Our Story

Jelli was founded on the idea that the audio experience could be (and deserved to be) radically improved. In 2009, we launched a platform that allowed radio listeners to crowdsource the broadcast in real-time. With the click of a button, listeners were able to rocket songs to the top and hear them play live on the radio! User controlled radio was exciting, but in 2012 we uncovered the opportunity to do something even bigger with our platform. During a meeting with one of the largest US ad agencies, we were asked if we could transform our technology into a server for radio ads. This was the beginning of our software as it is today. These small steps lead to giant leaps and this technology has enabled us to grow from a handful of cities to nationwide coverage with an audience larger than Google, Facebook, or Twitter. Our investors include Relay Ventures, Intel Capital, First Round Capital, iHeartMedia, and Universal Music Group.
